Fees & Insurance

Clarity before
you begin.

Therapy is an investment in your life. Understanding your out-of-network benefits can make the financial side feel more manageable.

Using out-of-network benefits for therapy.

REtherapy Center is an out-of-network practice. Depending on your plan, your insurance may reimburse part of the cost of therapy after you meet your deductible.

The benefits checker can help you understand what your plan may cover before you schedule. It is a starting point—not a guarantee of benefits or payment.

Frequency & commitment

Know what the work may ask of you.

Most couples begin weekly so the work can build momentum. When a relationship is in distress, regular sessions make it easier to notice the pattern, practice a different response, and carry the work into the week between appointments.

Frequency is not fixed forever. As stability and progress increase, the rhythm can be adjusted. The consultation is a place to talk about the intensity of what is happening, what feels realistic, and the kind of commitment that may best support your goals.

A Question Of Fit

The right fit
matters.

Therapy is both a personal and financial commitment. My fees reflect specialized, focused care for relationship distress, trauma, and significant life decisions.

During the free consultation, we can discuss what you need, whether my approach fits, and any questions you have about cost or out-of-network reimbursement.

Before You Decide

Insurance can help.
It can also add complexity.

Your cost may still vary.

Deductibles, coinsurance, plan limits, and the amount your insurer allows can all affect what you ultimately pay. An estimate is useful, but it is not a guarantee of reimbursement.

A claim involves your health plan.

Submitting a claim can require your insurer to receive information needed to process it, including a diagnosis code. That information becomes part of your health-plan record.

Payment and reimbursement are separate.

You remain responsible for the full session fee. If a claim is delayed, denied, or reimbursed for less than expected, your health plan—not REtherapy Center—makes that decision.

Frequently asked questions

01How often do couples usually begin?+

Most couples begin weekly so the work can build momentum and difficult patterns do not have weeks to reset between sessions. Frequency may be adjusted as stability and progress increase.

02How many sessions will we need?+

There is no promised timeline. The number of sessions depends on what brings you in, the history of the relationship, the level of distress, and the goals you are working toward. The first sessions help clarify a useful starting plan.

03Can we begin less frequently?+

Yes. The right rhythm depends on your needs, availability, and what you are trying to change. Weekly sessions are often the strongest starting point for active relationship distress, while other situations may call for a different pace.

04Why is a couples appointment 60 minutes with 50 minutes of therapy time?+

Appointments are reserved in 60-minute blocks and include approximately 50 minutes of direct clinical work, with protected time for transition, scheduling, documentation, and client privacy between appointments.

05What happens if one partner attends alone?+

Contact REtherapy Center before the appointment if one partner cannot attend. Whether the session can proceed depends on the purpose of the work and what is clinically appropriate for the relationship.

06What if our situation feels like it needs more time?+

The current couples appointment is 60 minutes. If you are facing high conflict, betrayal, or another situation that may need a different structure, bring that up during the free consultation so you can discuss the most appropriate next step.

07How long are therapy sessions?+

Individual and couples therapy appointments are scheduled for 60 minutes, with 50 minutes of therapy time. Discernment Counseling is scheduled for 90 minutes.

08Is the consultation free?+

Yes. Begin with a free 20-minute consultation to talk about what is bringing you in and whether REtherapy Center is the right fit.

09What happens if I cancel late or miss my appointment?+

Appointments cancelled with fewer than 48 hours’ notice, as well as missed appointments, are charged the full therapy session fee. Monday appointments must be changed by the previous Thursday at 5 pm.

10How does out-of-network reimbursement work?+

You pay REtherapy Center directly. If your plan includes out-of-network benefits, it may reimburse part of the cost after your deductible. If requested, REtherapy Center can provide a superbill for you to submit to your plan. You are responsible for submitting the claim and following up with your insurer; your plan makes the final coverage and payment decision.
